The distant shores of mystery
sound out their beck and call.
the sailor, thrown and tossed at sea
flees from his own gall;
Ever pressing on against
the storms and thundering waves,
Yet never looking 'round to try
and find a safer way.
Upon the distant shores, for him,
there is great worth to find
Deep in the earth, yet danger within:
the risk of greater pride.
Opposed to men of vanity
these shores hold people still
who with courage, love, and dignity
came to finally 'be still.'
To them the land is revered with hope
for all to come and see
and find the treasure of eternal worth: everlasting peace.
Their lower lights are burning still
brightly marking the way,
Reflecting the light of Jesus Christ,
Guiding all to come and stay.
For in him is where all hope is found,
from him flows all light.
Though darkness may usurp for a time,
His day ever conquers the night.
I wish to be reflective of him
and help others to the shore.
Guiding them through my example and faith
To be with God forevermore.
