Chapter 77: Enable and Ennoble

"For the body is not one member, but many. And the eye cannot say unto the hand, I have no need of thee: nor again the head to the feet, I have no need of you. Nay, much more those members of the body, which seem to be more feeble, are necessary."

1 Corinthians 12:14, 21-22

Another week is now gone, a very busy week as well. It was the first week of the transfer which means a lot of meetings and craziness on our end. For the first time in the history of the Scotland Ireland Mission, we brought every single district leader in the entire mission into Edinburgh for a special district leader training meeting this past Tuesday. It was honestly one of the coolest experiences I've had on my mission, to see all these great leaders together and to spend just a bit of time with them. We actually hosted all 17 of them overnight in our flat on Monday which was just great.

During the training our main focus was to help these leaders just really come to understand their crucial role and responsibility as the leaders of the districts. As background, the organization of a mission is a follows: there is a Mission President who leads alongside his wife. He has Assistants who are responsible, on his behalf, to care for the mission. Then, throughout the mission there are zones, each lead by a companionship of Zone Leaders, which zones are then composed of districts each lead by a District Leader.

The districts are the most foundational unit of the mission, and there much of the culture of the mission is determined and it was just so great to see the spirit help these great Elders understand this better. You could really see the light of confidence fill their eyes during the meeting, and it has caused me to reflect a lot on how God does the same with each of us.

God is always seeking to lift us higher to reach our eternal potential of eternal glory.

Sometimes, like Paul teaches us here, we may believe that some parts of the "body of Christ" are more feeble or less important, but in reality, all parts are necessary. You are necessary. You have so much to contribute, and there is so much need for you.

When we understand this, when we truly feel the truth, which is that we are loved and have much to contribute, then God can magnify us through his spirit to accomplish his purposes, which, in the simplest sense, is to help another understand the same truth, that he or she is loved and has much to contribute. God's kingdom is "not one member, but many."

Life is good.

God is wise.
