Chapter 55: Momentum

"For behold, thus saith the Lord God: I will give unto the children of men line upon line, precept upon precept, here a little and there a little; and blessed are those who hearken unto my precepts, and lend an ear unto my counsel, for they shall learn wisdom; for unto him that receiveth I will give more; and from them that shall say, We have enough, from them shall be taken away even that which they have."2 Nephi 28:30 What an incredible week! Not perfect in any particular way, but nonetheless incredible. As we worked hard to do our best, we were blessed to be able to find new people to teach and have some really good lessons. We also had exchanges with the Perth elders, Elder Beal and Elder Gwynn, that went really well. Elder Beal and myself found this guy on the street and taught him an hour long lesson, completely changing his worldview and perspective on God. It was pretty incredible. The Zone also experienced a lot of miracles as well. It seems as if everything was just coming together for us which is just really neat. We all are working hard and so it feels as if The Lord is recognizing our efforts and rewarding our faith in tangible ways. It doesn't always happen like that, but when it does it is fun. With that said, we have built some good momentum as a Zone, as a companionship, but most importantly, I feel as if I have some good momentum personally right now in my life. I feel like I finally understand how to do what I need to do, and I'm just really happy and excited to be a missionary. I have so much confidence in God, who in turn has confidence in me, helping me yo have the faith to give everything my all. General Conference played a large role in that—if you weren't able to see it, please consider watching just one session. It will change your perspective on everything. So much pure truth was taught. I especially loved the talk by Brad Wilcox about how regardless of what we are going through, as long as we are honest and open and striving to be the best we can, we are worthy of all the blessings God has in store for us. How grateful I am to be on a mission, to be serving with these missionaries and to be serving these people. Scotland is just the loveliest place. I know it may seem otherwise sometimes, but there is so much good in the world, in the people who live on it. I believe in goodness, and all goodness comes from God and Jesus Christ (Moroni 7:16). Choose to believe in the good: in yourself, in others, and in God. He simply won't lead you astray. Life is good. God is wise. Don't give up. Elder Childers
