Chapter 2: The Process

"Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid; for the Lord JEHOVAH is my strength and my song; he also has become my salvation."

2 Nephi 22:2 (compare Isaiah 12:2)

All of us are part of different processes. Each day, we start the process of waking our bodies up and getting ready for the day. We eat, breathe, laugh, touch, speak, and so forth. Down to the cellular level our bodies undergo specific and incredible processes, most without us even knowing. We also experience higher processes, such as thought, love, anger, fear, surprise, joy, sadness, doubt, and faith. On a larger scale, we experience the process of the school day, week, semester, year, and degree. We experience the first and last day of the career and everything in between. We experience relationships that span years. We play sports, build routines of thought and action. Our processes develop and adapt. As we grow older, we begin to realize that the processes of life are not as simple as they used to be. Life can become overrun with uncertainty which leads to doubt. There are circumstances that all of us are in where we do not know how it is going to end, and a lot of the time this can be so discouraging.

It does not need to be.

There is a phrase about processes that I've heard a lot from my dear older brother. He always says, "Trust the Process." Our life here on Earth is one giant process, and it is a process that we know the end of. Jesus Christ is the process of this existence. He died for all mankind, so that each one of us could overcome the weaknesses each of us have and return to live with our Heavenly Father. To have faith in Christ is how we can find peace in the processes of life that leave us discouraged. Faith is a trust that goes beyond a need for perfect knowledge, and therefore when we do not know how things will work out: when we have faith in Christ we realize that we do not need to know everything, because we trust in him and His plan. We can know with a surety that if we strive to remain close to him through prayer, studying of the holy scriptures, and continually striving to follow the way he has set, we will complete the process. We will be okay. We will overcome. The process will lead to a result that may not be what we expect, but as we trust in him, and therefore "trust the process,"the result will be exactly how it needs to be.

This is faith.

At this time I have finished my process of the Missionary Training Center and am being temporarily released as a full-time missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints until I leave for the Philadelphia Mission on September 30th. I have no idea where this next month will take me, but like Nephi, I will trust, and not be afraid, because I know I am trusting He who knows all things. I invite all of you to ponder that idea of faith, and apply it to a process you are going through. Choose to say, "I do not know how this will end, but I want to trust in you God: I will listen for and follow your direction." I promise you that if you do this you will find the peace that you seek, you will find the comfort you desire, and you will feel the Love of your Heavenly Father and how He knows you perfectly.

Trust the Process.

Life is good.

God is wise.

Don't give up.

Me tired cause being a missionary is tiring. I definitely fell asleep a couple times that day.

Cutting Zucchini...haha kinda random but it was for a pizza that I made.
