Chapter 29: The Hope of Easter

"And if Christ had not risen from the dead, or have broken the bands of death that the grave should have no victory, and that death should have no sting, there could have been no resurrection. But there is a resurrection, therefore the grave hath no victory, and the sting of death is swallowed up in Christ. He is the light and the life of the world; yea, a light that is endless, that can never be darkened; yea, and also a life which is endless, that there can be no more death."

Mosiah 16:7-9

What a beautiful Easter Week! I am so grateful for all that I learned and felt as I had the chance to study the life of Christ and all he did the last week of his mortal ministry.

On my Facebook account, I made a goal to make a post for each day of the week and share some of my thoughts and feelings on the events of that particular day; if you want, you can find those there!

From it all, I really love the words of the prophet Abinadi, quoted at the top of this chapter, where he beautifully explains that because of Christ's Resurrection, the grave has no victory and the sting of death is swallowed up in Christ. Because of that, Christ is, quite literally, the 'life of the world,' for through him and his sacrifice we are able to find peace and hope in knowing that death is not the end—that we are on a path back to our heavenly home.

Christ provides that way back. Seek him, and seek to build faith in him. The prophet of our day, Russell M. Nelson, in a recent talk asked us all to deepen our faith in him by doing five simple things:

1) Study and learn about Christ

2) Choose to believe in Jesus Christ

3) Act in faith—ask yourself what you would do if you had more faith, and then do it!

4) Partake of sacred ordinances

5) Ask Heavenly Father in prayer to help you increase your faith.

I can promise you all that as you do these things, more hope and peace will come into your life than ever before. If you believe me, do it! If you're hesitant, act in faith and try it out!! If you outright don't believe me, do it and prove me wrong.

All who earnestly seek the Savior, with a pure heart and real intent, will find peace and hope, of that I testify.

Life is good

God is wise
