Chapter 25: His Rest

"And now, my brethren, I wish from the inmost part of my heart...that ye would humble yourselves before the Lord, and call on his holy name, and watch and pray continually, that ye may not be tempted above that which ye can bear, and thus be led by the Holy Spirit, becoming humble, meek, submissive, patient, full of love and all long-suffering; Having faith on the Lord; having a hope that ye shall receive eternal life; having the love of God always in your hearts, that ye may be lifted up at the last day and enter into his rest. And may the Lord grant unto you repentance."

Alma 13:27-30

This week was incredible! The Lord surely is there for us all and I just love this scripture from the Book of Mormon and the peace it has brought to me this week.

I thought I could give more of an update with how things are going here and how I am doing. I've been a missionary for about 200 days now, which is really humbling. I have grown to love this lifestyle. I love telling anyone I meet that I am a missionary and that I teach others about Christ; it truly is a holy privilege. I have seen so many blessings doing this work, not the least of them being able to baptize Henry on Saturday the 6th of this past week.

It was a beautiful day.

After he was baptized and received the Gift of the Holy Ghost, Henry was given a chance to say a few words to the small gathering there in person and via Zoom. He simply said:

"I have no words to describe these feelings, other than I know they are good and they come from God."

He is a great example to me.

I have a testimony of the truthfulness of Christ's gospel. Deepening faith and sincere repentance in my life have changed me for the better. In no respects am I a perfect man, but I look to the Son of Man, the perfect exemplar, and find hope and peace. Because of Jesus Christ and his sacrifice for us, there is a great bridge built over the vast chasm which separates us as we are now from God and life with and like Him. The bridge is His grace and mercy, made available to us because of His Atonement and through the Holy Ghost. One step at a time, we can tread the paths of righteousness to one day enter into his rest; I know it is true!

Keep your heads up and always pray. God will be there in the times of your need as you come to Him in humility, I promise.

Life is good.

God is wise
