"Hear, O ye heavens, and give ear, O earth, and rejoice ye inhabitants thereof, for the Lord is God, and beside him there is no Savior. Great is his wisdom, marvelous are his ways, and the extent of his doings none can find out. His purposes fail not, neither are there any who can stay his hand."
Doctrine and Covenants 76:1-3
Some changes have happened since this last week. I am now in Medford NJ; I was emergency transferred over here to fill in for a missionary who had to go home due to a family emergency. I am now a District Leader, which basically means I am supposed to be an example and mentor/leader for about eight other missionaries. I have a lot more responsibilities than before.
The first question I had was: why me?
Surely I am not the best fit for this job, and believe me, I'm not.
What is the purpose?
Well, like all of us, I don't really get to know the answer to that question until later. Our call is to move forward with faith in the circumstances we are placed in and trust that God is in charge and that if we let Him prevail, we will realize the potential he has in store for us.
It's a marvelous process, a soul-searching process, and yet a difficult process all the same.
I was very happy and comfortable in my previous area. I saw purpose for me there, but I know that I will see purpose for me here as well, for I believe in a loving God who helps us along the way. Sure we fall down a lot, we tend to mess up and seemingly fail over and over again; however, his Mercy, Power, and Grace are always there for us. And, it is through Jesus Christ, his eternal sacrifice for us that we are able to draw upon the power of Godliness.
Stay close to the Lord always and he will lead you along, I promise.
Life is good.
God is wise.
Never give up.
