"...hear ye the words of the prophet...and liken them unto yourselves, that ye may have hope..."

1 Nephi 19:24

I came across this scripture in my studies this week and really found it to be quite powerful and insightful. With so much discord in the world, the voices of the prophets are needed more than ever before. I have a firm belief that Russell M. Nelson is God's appointed prophet on the earth today, and that his words and direction come to us from Heaven. We can truly find hope as we follow the words of the loving prophets, as well as the scriptural ones.

With that said, I studied a talk by President Nelson this week that my brother Ansel sent me a while ago. Here is my favorite quote:

"My dear brothers and sisters, the joy we feel has little to do with the circumstances of our lives and everything to do with the focus of our lives."

"Joy and Spiritual Survival"

President Nelson

What a remarkable concept! Can't you feel the truth resonate through these words of a prophet of God? As we focus our lives on Christ we can truly feel joy all the time. Try it, I promise you will feel an increase of joy.

The work is going well here, we had a miracle opportunity to meet Zee's husband this week. I had a prompting to bake an apple cobbler for her birthday and so we dropped it off and he called while we were over there so we got to talk to him. He was so touched by our attempts to serve his wife, and he joined the lesson we had that night and loved it all. We expect both of them to be baptized here soon! God is truly at the head of his work.

Life is good

God is wise.

Don't give up.
